What is Your Passion?

Within each of us is at least one “passion”, one area of interest that excites us, making us want to learn more. However, the sad reality is that many of the students in our schools live in a very “limited” world. It is hard to know that “cryogenics” or “mechanical engineering” or “the cello” are your passions if you have NEVER been exposed to them! Thus, CRI has created Adventure Learning Days.

Picture a school day where the entire day is filled with wonderful new learning opportunities. From programs in the arts, to interactive science activities, to exploring other cultures, students have the chance to be exposed to new and exciting presenters and topics and potential “passions”. CRI coordinates the entire day bringing 12-20 programs and presenters into the school to share their knowledge and passion.

A recent Adventure Day had topics such as Feathers and Flight, Sound Painting, Introduction to Theatre, African Drumming, Kinetic Engineering, Mission to Mars, Weaving, and Opera Storytime. These programs, plus many more, opened doors to new learning experiences for our students.

Following an Adventure Day, students (and teachers) are often heard to say, This was the BEST day ever.  And, maybe, just maybe, some students discovered their life passion!!
