Become A CRI Board Member

Community Resources Inc. is an educational nonprofit that brings the community into the classroom. Through volunteer programs, mentorship, family nights, and cultural events, we connect students and families with enriching educational experiences they might not otherwise have access to. We are currently seeking new board members who are passionate about education — and who can lend their expertise in specific areas to help us grow.

Our board members support governance and strategy, but also play a hands-on role in fundraising, outreach, and strengthening our impact. We welcome members from all backgrounds, especially those with lived experience in the communities we serve.

Board Opportunities

Accounting and Financial Planning

  • CPA or nonprofit finance experience preferred

  • Budget planning and financial analysis

  • Experience with small organizations or restricted funds a plus

Event Planning and Community Engagement

  • Experience planning fundraising events

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Comfortable with logistics, outreach, and community engagement

Community Partnerships & Corporate Sponsorships

  • Business development, CSR, or nonprofit sponsorships

  • Strong communication and networking abilities

  • Passion for connecting business with community impact

Grant Writing Expertise

  • Experience with nonprofit grant writing or fundraising

  • Familiarity with local, state, or national funding sources

  • Comfortable helping build a sustainable funding strategy

Web and Digital Strategy

  • Website management (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace)

  • Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and digital content

  • Ability to guide staff/volunteers or do light troubleshooting

General
